Black Forest Mountain Biking Paradise
Demanding ascents, wonderful downhill trails and impressive views!For mountain bikers the Glottertal is the perfect starting point for various mountain bike tours in the surrounding region. As well as the various tour possibilities in the southern Black Forest, you can also test your limits ascending the local mountain, the Kandel (1.242 m, 4,078 ft).In the whole southern Black Forest nature reserve, mountain bikers will find a seemingly unlimited number of tours of all difficulty levels, from gentle road trails and hilly forest paths to demanding single track trails. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, you are sure to find plenty of tours to keep you occupied. The whole network of trails is around 3,000 km long, taking mountain bikes past glacial lakes to the heights of the Black Forest, where you are rewarded by magnificent views over the Rhine plains and the Alps in the distance. In the last few years a lot has been done to improve the mountain biking facilities in the Black Forest. The results are clear in the standardised signposting, elaborate tours for all ability levels and detailed maps of the region showing the elevation profile and much more valuable information.
